thumb22A good opening repertoire doesn’t need a great amount of lines to study, sothat you can be successful. Generally, most sources on opening repertoires for white tend to fall into one of the two categories: they suggest popular mainstream lines from opening theory that are simply too complex.

Sometimes they are just overwhelming for non-professional players, or they just advocate general schemes that aren’t good enough to give us an advantage. The most important thing in any repertoire is to include coherent and sounds lines versus each of the main lines for the opponent. The following video provides good repertoire against the three most common opening against 1.e4: Sicilian, French and Caro-Kann. They all consist of sharp openings leading to open positions and providing many opportunities for white. Enjoy!
