A Lesson on Typical Mistakes

Hi everyone! Today, I want to discuss a key topic that interests many chess players from beginner to master: How to avoid the typical mistakes? This is a truly important theme because during our games, we often make some really bad positional mistakes and we don’t even know they happened.

Learning about these errors in our play as well as the ability to fix them is what helps us grow and ultimately become better players. In the presented video, you will find three examples in which there was an essential mistake that often happens in the games of beginner and intermediate level players. I used the excellent Chess.com Analysis board for my presentation and hope you will find these positions just as instructive and learn from them as much as I did!

In conclusion, we can say that often mistakes (typical or not) simply occur by misevaluating the position and opponent’s threats. Learning to evaluate positions correctly, as well as approaching them correctly is what we need to improve our playing habits!
